Unfortunately, Lenovo has not made much of an impact on the U.S. smartphone scene, but rest assured, they are busy developing new devices all of the time. The latest news we had was that their next smartphone, the Vibe Z2 Pro (K920), would be a true flagship-type device. Up until today, it had not been officially announced, but our source has leaked a selfie of the new device from a fairly reliable source – Arthur Wei, Lenovo’s Chief Marketing Officer for China posted the information on his Weibo account. Not only did he leak a picture for all to enjoy, he also leaked the specifications for the Vibe Z2 Pro.
The newest Lenovo smartphone will sport a full 6-inch QHD IPS display with 2560 x 1440 resolution. With the entire device measuring 156 x 81.3 x 7.7mm, the screen will account for up to 83.5-percent of the space – talk about small bezels. It will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor clocked at 2.5GHz and run 3GB of RAM and comes with 32GB of internal storage. The main 16MP camera will use the same sensor as the Samsung Galaxy S5 – meaning it will have their ISOCELL technology and Lenovo will also be including OIS and a dual LED-flash…two things the Galaxy S5 should have had all along.
The Vibe Z2 Pro will also have dual-SIM support, 4G LTE and a huge 4,000mAh battery for power. It will come with Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box with Lenovo’s Vibe UI 2.0 on the top end. We still have not been told pricing or availability – or even if it will leave the boundaries of China…we certainly hope so. We should know more details at Lenovo’s event on August 5. Please hit us up on our Google+ Page and let us know if you would like to see these Lenovo devices start selling in your neck of the woods. It is possible that Lenovo is waiting for their purchase of Motorola to be finalized before they start shipping out of the Asian countries. I know in the U.S. there are many of us that would like to see these new smartphones…as always, we would love to hear from you.
