LG G Vista to Hit Verizon with 5.7-inch 720p Display and Snapdragon 400 Under the Hood

Verizon has finally announced availability of the G3 for their network, which makes us wonder just what the LG G Vista really is, a device we all thought was the G3 for Verizon was recently dubbed a mid-range affair by @evleaks. Now, some specs of the device has surfaced from the same leakster and it seems those on Verizon will have one more option when it comes to large-screen devices without paying a premium a la the Galaxy Note 3 or the G3 itself.

While the G3 is fairly large at 5.5-inches, it still keeps its physical size down thanks to those super-slim bezel. The G Vista follows in its footsteps with the same sort of design, but the display is stretched a little to 5.7-inches and the display of 1280 x 720 is a far cry from the 2560 x 1440 of the G3. Still, this is designed to be a budget-minded handset and the Snapdragon 400 and 1.5GB of RAM inside pretty much confirm that, as does the 8-megapixel rear-facing camera. However, with a 3,200 mAh battery and Android 4.4.2 KitKat onboard with LG’s latest software, the G Vista begins to look and sound more like a respectable mid-ranger. The rear buttons will remind people of the G3 and the G2, so LG and Verizon are obviously hoping to sell a mid-range device with a little class to it.

@evleaks seems to know quite a bit about the G Vista, but we still don’t know when it’ll be hitting Big Red, but the render does list Thursday August 7th so next month could be the month. If there’s one thing that Verizon doesn’t have enough of it’s mid-range devices like these, that will appeal to those looking for something a little extra, but nothing too expensive. Hopefully, Verizon will be able to see sense and sell the G Vista at a reasonable price, but we’re going to have to wait a little while yet to find out.
