LG G3 Launches August 1 for $700 No-Term in Canada

Back on July 3 we did an article that LG announced that the new LG G3 would be coming to Canada – Rogers, Bell, MTS, SaskTel and Videotron would all be carrying the G3…and that it would be available August 1.  According to a leak from our source’s tipster, we can now verify that at least Bell will be carrying the new LG G3 and it will be available August 1.  We can also now tell you that it will run $699.95 for a no-contract price, and this will probably be the same with the other carriers.  This is in line with the previous LG G2 when it was released last year – the two-year contract will most likely cost you between $179.99 to $199.99.

The LG G3 coming to Canada will be the 32GB model with 3GB of RAM and optimized for the Canadian market – supporting LTE on AWS as well as 2600 and 700MHz.  It will be available only in the Metallic Black at the time of the initial release – but that’s not to say that the Silk White or Shine Gold will not eventually find its way into Canada. It should also be available at Tbooth, The Source, Wireless Wave, Wireless, Etc. and Wow Mobile and all carriers that they support – just in time for back-to-school.

The first thing you will notice about the LG G3 is that beautiful 5.5-inch QHD display with a 2560 x 1440 resolution and a whopping 538 pixels-per-inch (PPI).  To power the G3 you will find a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.5GHz – and we already told you that the Canadian version would be carrying 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, as well as a microSD card for up to an additional 128GB of storage.  The 13MP camera will have an improved OIS+, a dual LED flash with Laser Auto Focus – for video chatting and selfies there will be a 2.1MP front-facing camera (FFC).  The LG3 will be powered by a 3000mAh battery and will run their Optimus UI over Android 4.4.2.

Please hook up with us on our Google+ Page and let us know if you will be in line for your new LG G3 on August 1…as always, we would love to hear from you.
