LG Launches the G3 in India, Starting at RS 47,990 with Accessories in Tow

While it’s taken a little longer than other markets, LG has finally launched the G3 in India. A device of this caliber isn’t going to come cheap of course, and the starting price of RS 47,990 pretty much confirms that, but compared to the Galaxy S5, LG have priced their latest fairly well. It’s not just the G3 that’s heading to India though, as the company is also launching a slew of accessories for their device as well as a discount on the G Watch when purchasing their latest flagship.

If you’ve been keeping up with LG’s latest, then you’ll already be familiar with the specs here, but if not we’ll refresh your memory. Taking center stage on the G3 is the 2560 x 1440 5.5-inch display, with a Snapdragon 801 clocked at 2.5 Ghz under the hood. Following in the G2’s footsteps, the G3 features buttons around the rear of the device as well a 13-megapixel OIS rear-facing camera which features laser auto-focus and 4K video recording. Other highlights include a 3,000 mAh battery as well as metallic back cover with support for Qi wireless charging. We found a lot of nice things to say about the G3 in our review, which is where you’ll want to look while deciding if the G3 is the one for you.

The G3 will be available in Metallic Black, Silk White and Gold Shine and will start at RS 47,990 for the 2GB of RAM and 16GB model, with the price jumping to RS 50,990 if you want twice the amount of storage as well as 3GB of RAM. As well as this, the QuickCircle case will be available in India and if you’re looking to purchase the G Watch (which we also recently reviewed) then you’ll get an RS 5,000 discount when buying it with the G3. Catering a little more specifically for the Indian market, there will be 15,000 limited editions of the G3 with Amitabh Bachan’s signature as well as the chance to meet the man. While not cheap, the G3 is one of the best smartphones out there today, and compared to the Galaxy S5 it’s favorably priced considering what you’re getting.
