Is the Samsung SM-G906A the Galaxy S5 Prime?

We’ve been hearing rumors about the Galaxy S5 Prime since basically the Galaxy S5 launch. The Galaxy S5 Prime is supposedly a metal or aluminum device with a QHD display, and a Snapdragon 805 processor inside. Basically what we expected the Galaxy S5 to be before it was announced. We’ve heard a few times that the Galaxy S5 Prime had been cancelled and we also had heard of a HTC One M8 Prime that was cancelled as well. Now we also had rumors of the Galaxy S5 Active and the Galaxy S5 LTE-A and those are both official now, which leaves us with the Galaxy S5 Prime, still. Now we’re seeing a new model number leaking out today, that’s the SM-G906A, which we previously thought was the Galaxy S5 Active, but it obviously isn’t since that device is already out there and available for purchase.

Posted on Weibo, basically China’s Twitter, is an image from a Samsung device that shows the model number and device name. It says the “Galaxy S5P” which we are assuming that the P is for Prime, and then the model number is the SM-G906A. Which, obviously it could very well be faked, and we have no confirmation just yet that this is indeed the Galaxy S5 Prime, we are just going off of leaks and such for right now.

As far as we  know the Galaxy S5 Prime is supposedly going to feature a 2560×1440 resolution Super AMOLED display, Snapdragon 805 processor, 3GB of RAM and could possibly have a slight redesign. Of course, there’s also the Galaxy F, which is supposed to be all metal and launching in the Fall. It’ll be interesting to see what exactly the SM-G906A really is. What’s your money on? The Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime or something different? Let us know in the comments below.
