Leak: Images Surface Of The Metallic Galaxy Alpha

Yesterday we reported on a possible upcoming device from Samsung called the Galaxy Alpha, a Galaxy device said to have a metal body instead of the plastic that usually comes on a Samsung device, and that it may end up with potential availability or production issues due to the possibility of low supply for the metal body of the phone. We also stated that the Galaxy Alpha may not be the Galaxy S5 Prime, or the Galaxy F(both rumored to be the metal toting Galaxy device that has been talked about in rumors and speculation for so long)however it seems that Galaxy Alpha may possibly be that device after all. At least, a variation of it.

Rather what might be the case is that the Galaxy Alpha could be the first smartphone in a new flagship line up from Samsung, with the handsets that follow presumably coming with metal bodies as well. Thanks to Sammobile who was able to acquire actual images of the phone, we get a good look at what we can expect. Although we may have hoped for or at least believed we would be getting a completely metal body Samsung Galaxy device, with the Galaxy Alpha that doesn’t seem to be the case. The frame(the sides of the device)is apparently manufactured out of aluminum, while the backplate of the device keeps the faux leather intact like what we have seen on the past couple of devices from them. We know Samsung is big on the faux leather, as they feel it brings a stylish design as well as a nice feel to the device and potentially better grip.

The screen size we’ll be looking at is said to be a possible 4.7-inch display although past rumors have suggested 5.5-inches. The screen is also rumored to have either the same type of display as the Galaxy S III or the same resolution type however it is unconfirmed. It’s also reported that we ccould expect the storage in this device to be 32GB of internal memory,(yet no expandable storage which is a bit of a deviation from virtually all previous devices to ever come from the OEM)as well as carry the fingerprint scanner that is in the S5 and the Tab S devices. With the smaller screen, lack of expandable storage, and a possible screen type from a galaxy that is two generations old, this might not the uber premium Galaxy that people are hoping for. Although it might be nice for some to finally have a metallic constructed option from Samsung. Also according to the source, the Galaxy Alpha will be “sold as a watered down variant” of the Galaxy S5, but will be a step up from the Galaxy S5 mini. So far there is no word on price or when we could expect this device to hit, and most of the actual spec details are absent, but at least we know it to be a real device, and there will be at least one LTE variant of it with the LTE-A model shown in the images. My question is, if this is from a potentially new line up of flagships, when do we get to see the really premium high end device from this line up and what will that look like?
