Sony Xperia Z3 Specs Leak Out

This morning, Evleaks leaked out some of the specs of the Xperia Z3, which look pretty similar to the Xperia Z2 that was launched at Mobile World Congress in February. The model number is said to be the D6653, and sport a 5.15-inch 1080p display – likely to be IPS again like the Xperia Z2. Additionally we’re looking at a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor which is a 2.4GHz quad-core processor (according to Evleaks. As we only know of the 2.3 and 2.5GHz models). Along with the Adreno 330 GPU, 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. There’s also a 20.7MP camera on the back, 2.1MP front-facing shooter and it’s running Android 4.4.4.

Now we’ve already seen the Xperia Z3 leak out, and it looks a lot like the Xperia Z2 and even the Z1 before that. So there’s not a whole lot of surprises here. Sony will likely announced the Xperia Z3 at IFA in September, which is where they announced the Xperia Z1 last year. Sony seems to like having a new flagship every 6 months for some reason. Not really sure why, but they think it’s best for business. Which their mobile business is actually struggling right now, probably due to them not being here in the US, unfortunately. The Xperia Z2 just became available here via unlocked, and the Xperia Z2 Tablet just launched on Verizon Wireless earlier this month.

The Xperia Z3 is looking to be a pretty small upgrade over the Xperia Z2, but I’m sure a lot of people will love the device. Sony always has some of the best cameras on their devices, and with a 20.7MP camera on the back, there’s plenty of resolution there a well, to take advantage of.
