Another phablet by Sony lands up in the Indian android market andthis time it is Sony Xperia T3. This device was announced last month and today they have launched it at the price of Rs. 27,900 (or 465 USD approx), mentioning that it will be available at the stores from 28th July onwards. Sony Xperia T3 mainly boasts about its thickness of just 7mm and claims to have good battery backup. HTC Desire 816 and Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo will be the mail contenders for this device as they all fall in the same price range. Let us dig into its technical specifications.
The display size of the device is 5.3 Inches with HD resolution (720 x 1280 pixels), resulting in the pixel density of 277 PPI (which is decent as compared to other phablets in the same price range). Sony claims that TRILUMINOS technology used on the display makes it a much better display as compared to other devices (with the same size and resolution) because this technology enables an LCD display to exhibit more variety of colors thus scaling up the color quality by 50%. The performance of Sony Xperia T3 has been supported by 1GB RAM and a Quad Core Snapdragon processor operating at the frequency of 1.4 GHz. The rear camera on this device is of 13MP along with a VGA (1.1 MP) front-facing camera. The primary camera also has a Sony Exmor RS sensor which will help in capturing a good quality image in low-light conditions. The internal memory capacity of this device is of 8GB but it supports the external memory card up to 32GB. Sony Xperia T3 is equipped with a 2500 mAh with STAMINA Mode (and Sony claims that this good enough to support 12 hours of talk-time and 688 hours on standby). It will run on Android 4.4 Kitkat and will be compatible with connectivity features like Wifi, Bluetooth and 3G.
HTc Desire and Sony Xperia have got much of their specifications similar but HTC Desire is expected to perform better as it has 1.5 GB RAM (0.5GB more than that of Sony Xperia T3). Similarly, Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo will also offer a good competition especially when it has hexa-core processor, 2GB RAM and 16 Internal memory but better battery capacity with STAMINA Mode, Display with TILUMINOS technology and camera with Sony Exmor sensor are something which make Sony Xperia T3 somewhat unique.
