Description: Rugo is an Icon Pack for Android from the talented GSeth who has done a number of icon packs before, and Rugo is based around a previous pack of his, Ruggy. Coming in at 192×192, these crushed-paper, popup like rustic icons have a unique look to them and considering there are over 2,300 of them, there’s very little chance that you’ll find an app that isn’t themed by these icons. There is of course a matching Dashboard app including to make applying the icons nice and easy, with access to the great variety of wallpapers that go well with these icons. Supporting all major launchers as well as the Muzei live wallpaper, Rugo has over 2,300 icons and a unique look and feel that should appeal to a great many users.
How it Works: First of all, you’ll need to download Rugo from the Play Store, once you’ve done that you can go ahead and launch the app to apply the theme with your launcher. I’m going to use Unicon here, as I enjoy the Google Now Launcher, but still want these cool icons. Luckily, it works just fine with Unicon if you’re an Xposed user.
Once you’ve applied the icon pack, you can open up your app drawer and take a look at all of the icons that have been applied to apps and games on your device.
With 2,300+ icons available in Ruggo, it’s pretty hard to come across apps that aren’t included, but if there are some that aren’t in there, you can simply request for an icon through the Dashboard app.
These icons look excellent when coupled with a similar wallpaper. The rustic, retro look and feel of these crumpled icons is a nice departure from the often over-designed icons from other packs and if you just have a rougher style, then you’re going to love this.
Speaking of wallpapers, there’s a great variety of them available inside of the app.
Opinion: Rugo is one of those icon packs that might not be to everyone’s taste, but if you’re looking for something a little different with a more rustic feel, then Rugo is definitely something you’ll like. If you liked Ruggy, then you’ll really take to this and there’s even support for Muzei as well as a Zooper theme you can download from the Play Store as well. Rugo has more wallpapers in it than I have seen from other icon packs, which is nice and there’s a very generous offering of backgrounds available here. While some of them are a little wonky with the Google Now Launcher, I am putting this in Google’s camp. They’re good-looking wallpapers and really help suit the vintage look of the thousands of icons included in Rugo.
