Description: Soundcloud MP3 Downloader is an Android app that aims to fulfill a simple task, the ability to download and keep Soundcloud files to your device. For those that are interested in independent music and would rather download and listen to music for free from Soundcloud than illegally download tracks elsewhere. Fans of Soundcloud and the artists on there will no doubt be wondering how they can download their favorite tracks and beats to listen to and share with friends no matter their connection. With Soundcloud MP3 Downloader, users can keep tracks for offline use and listen to them whenever they want. The question is though, is this app any good? Let’s take a look.
How it Works: First of all, you’ll need to download Soundcloud MP3 Downloader from the Play Store and then accept the terms and conditions.
Once you’ve done that, you can go ahead and take a look at some featured music.
When you click on a song, you can listen to it playing in the app itself.
If you want to download something, you can just press and hold, then hit the download button. Songs or tracks you have downloaded will appear in the right-hand side and then in the downloaded section.
You can easily browse through genres from the left.
Opinion: There are a lot of apps out there that allow people to download online content to view offline, they exist for Instagram, Vine and more. Soundcloud MP3 Downloader isn’t all that different and while it does fulfill the purpose it sets out to do, it’s pretty clunky at times. For one thing, not all of the songs listed are available to download, which is fine but there’s no way to filter these out leaving the user disappointed when song after song cannot be downloaded. The search function is another bone of contention here as it very rarely works – I was unable to find the Android Headlines podcast for instance. However, a simple app that looks good, Soundcloud MP3 Downloader just needs some extra work to become a lot better.
Ratings
- Speed (4/5) – No complaints here, Soundcloud MP3 Downloader runs just fine and while it’s not super quick or anything it runs fine.
- Features (3/5) – It might do what it sets out to do, but it’s a fairly clunky process with poor search and a lot of songs not available to download.
- Theme (4/5) – It’s a good-looking app that uses orange just like the Play Music app does which is a nice touch.
- Overall (3.5/5) – With some direction to new users, a better search function and more control over filters, Soundcloud MP3 Downloader would be much better than it is now.
Pros
- Simple and easy to use for the most part.
- Looks like you’d expect a music app to look like and fits Soundcloud nicely.
- Uses the official Soundcloud API, so it’s fairly quick to get songs playing right away.
- Great for fans of independent music all over the globe.
Cons
- UI is clunky and there’s no cues on what to use things for new users which can be quite jarring.
- Search function needs a lot of work.
Conclusion: With some work, Soundcloud MP3 Downloader would be a much better app, but as it stands it does what it sets out to do just fine. You can easily download music and songs using the app no problem. It’d be nice to be able to filter out tracks that have downloading blocked on them, and the search needs improving but with a little time it’ll only get better. If you love Soundcloud then you should definitely get some use out of this.
