The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 List Of .APK Files Leaked

evleaks has outed some details about the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 rumored to be getting dropped this fall, but not the kind of details that you might think. Normally in this scenario you might think like we were for a second that the leaks were in regards to specs or device images, but nope. These leaks are all about apk files that are said to be from app packages installed on the Galaxy Note 4. While it may not seem as exciting as seeing leaked images of the upcoming device, the apk tags do tip us off to what we can possibly expect to see as part of the Galaxy Note 4 when it comes to features.

Looking at the image of the listed apk’s said to be from the Note 4, we can see that there is something called FingerPrint services, which points to a return of the fingerprint scanner we first saw within the Galaxy S5 earlier this year. That may have been an obvious one as the Galaxy Tab S has it as well and has already been released, suggesting that Samsung would be looking to implement the feature into more devices down the line as well. We can also see the Shealth apk listed as shealth3_5.apk, which is also no surprise there but most likely means we’ll be seeing the heart rate sensor make a comeback in another Samsung device with the Galaxy note 4, which would make it their 6th device to carry it, alongside the S5, the Gear 2, the Gear 2 neo, the Gear Fit, and the Gear Live.

VRSVC.apk and VRsetup.apk sound like VR apps, and suggest that the Galaxy Note 4 will have some compatibility with Samsung’s virtual reality headset that will be launching in the future as well, which has Oculus providing the software side of things for the product. This could also mean that we might be able to expect a launch of Samsung’s Gear VR alongside the Note 4 when it hits. We might get to see Samsung unveil the Note 4 at IFA in September, so if Samsung is planning on releasing the Gear VR at the same time that would be the most likely date. There are other interesting apk listings in the image down below, so have a look and leave your thoughts in the comments.
