Xiaomi Tease July 22nd Product Launch; Mi4 Incoming?

Xiaomi looks like a company to be having a fairly busy summer, having recently just launched in India, with the announcement of the Mi3 going on sale later this month and rumors of the company working on a Fitbit competitor for less than $40. Now, it looks like the company is ready to announced their latest and greatest flagship, the Mi4. Their CEO, Lei Jun has taken to Sina Weibo to tease us with the number 4, obviously a hint that the Mi4 is coming. So far, all the rumors have added up to something pretty impressive launching in the Mi4.

We’ve heard that the device is to feature a metal build, a 5.2-inch Full HD display and some pretty impressive specs under the hood. A Snapdragon 801 or Nvidia Tegra K1 is rumored for the launch, but we wouldn’t be surprised if a Snapdragon 805 would manage to make its way into the Mi4. Of course, we need to remember that the Mi line of devices are often designed to be affordable as well as powerful. As for imagine, a 13-megapixel camera is rumored for the Mi4 and we’d like to see some sort of Sony sensor being used once again for great results.

According to the company’s President and co-founder, Lin Bin, Xioami will be holding its annual product launch on July 22nd, which is when a lot of people are expecting to see the Mi4 burst onto the scene along with their first wearable. Xiaomi has gone from a company known for the MIUI ROM and cheaper devices, to an Apple-like company that sells everything from battery packs to headphones. It makes sense for Xiaomi to launch a wearable and the launch of a new flagship smartphone should help them further climb the smartphone ladder in China and hopefully, we’ll hear some more news about their international expansion.
