ZTE's Nubia Z7 Leaks Out, Said to Feature Snapdragon 805

While ZTE is yet to make anything of themselves here in the West when it comes to high-end smartphones, in China their Nubia brand is pretty popular and they continue to churn out some very appealing phones, indeed. Now, it looks like ZTE is readying their latest and greatest, the Nubia Z7 and the handset has been spotted in the wild, with some leaked info and leaked images to give fans of the Nubia line something to look forward to. At first glance, it looks like ZTE has been taking a leaf out of the OnePlus One’s book when it comes to design and the specs are right up there as well.

From the leaked info that’s appeared on CNBeta, it sounds like the Nubia Z7 is to feature a Snapdragon 805, which would make it one of the very few devices in China to feature such a device. Of course, such specs don’t come cheap and the Z7 is rumored to cost somewhere in the region of 3,500 Yuan which is pretty pricey. But considering we’re looking at a device with a large display, very little bezel and a metal build it makes sense that they’d be a premium price tag to go along with it. However, there’s one part of the design that doesn’t seem so premium and that’s the 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, we’d expect to see at least a 13-megapixel camera on a device like this, but this could change before it hits the market.

As for the build and design of the Nubia Z7, as you can see in the images below, there’s definitely some inspiration taken from the OnePlus One around the speakers and some from the M8 on the sides of the device. Still, the Nubia Z7 does feel very much like it’s own device, and if it launches soon in China, then ZTE could have another successful high-end device on their hands.
