Samsung really hit the spot when they introduced their first Galaxy Note phablet back in 2011. That phone basically started the trend of huge screen devices which are so loved these days. Fourth iteration of Samsung’s phablet device is due to launch at this year’s IFA in Berlin. Samsung dropped a huge hint when they scheduled its unpacked event for September 3rd and asked us to “note the date”.
That date is still some way off though and we’re sure to see more leaks before the thing gets announced. Leaks as the one we’ll be sharing now actually. Alleged Galaxy Note 4 retail box surfaced in an image, Phone Arena reports. You can see it in an image above, the packaging is totally different than last year Note’s and Galaxy S5’s packaging. If this leak is to be believed Samsung is moving away from environmentally-focused, recyclable packaging, at least when it comes to the looks of the retail box. This might also indicate a new direction for Samsung devices, which could be a great thing. It seems like rumored Galaxy Alpha device will bring premium materials to Samsung’s Galaxy line, could the Galaxy Note 4 also take that route? On the other hand maybe Samsung is working on a UI overhaul or they just changed the packaging and we’re looking way too much into it, we’ll find out soon. One more thing you might notice is the date set on the screen of this device from the image, it says September 15. This is odd, considering Samsung’s unpacked event is about to take place on September 3rd. Is this just Samsung’s way to throw us for a loop, are they going to surprise everyone and really release the thing on September 15th as reported last week? I guess we’ll just have to wait for the release date or more information rumors/leaks will bring.
As far as specifications go, we don’t have much information at this time. The latest report points towards a Snapdragon 805 SoC which might be running the device though. We’ll most probably see more leaks before the launch carrying specification-related news though, stay tuned.
