AT&T To Grab Moto Maker Exclusive Yet Again, Moto X+1 Might Cost $249

Motorola is all over the news lately, rumors upon rumors… upon rumors. This time around we have yet another interesting rumor for you. It seems like AT&T will once again get the Moto Maker exclusive, according to TK Tech News (their sources rather). Not only that, but the rumor says that a 32GB model of the device will be prices at $249. The leak also states that a 16GB model is not confirmed yet, although it will come at a later date with a budget price according to TK Tech News’ sources. In addition, it seems like Moto Maker won’t be available at launch for the Moto X+1. Motorola and AT&T are allegedly planning a pre-order deal which will take place on September 6 (interesting enough, Samsung is launching their Galaxy Note 4 phablet on that very same date). Users will reportedly be available to create their own version of the phone on said date with all the usual option plus wood and leather backing. The price of the customized AT&T Moto X+1 would be $199 on that date only, which is $50 of the regular price. AT&T will allegedly have the exclusive for a few week or a month tops, compared to the last year when it had a 3-month exclusive. One more thing to note here is that the orders from US customers will have to come from Mexico considering Motorola’s Texas plant is shutting down.

Motorola decided to hold its press event in Chicago on September 4th instead of Berlin where the majority of manufacturers will hold their press events as part of IFA (though technically pre-IFA). According to leaked GFXBench results, Moto X+1 will feature a 5.2-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display along with 2GB of RAM and a Snapdragon 800 CPU. Adreno 330 GPU will be there for graphics performance and the device will reportedly come with multiple storage options (16, 32 and 64GB). 12-megapixel camera is expected to be the device’s main shooter with a 2-megapixel front-facing snapper. Android 4.4.4 KitKat will reportedly be there out of the box. The event is close, mark the date in your calendar and let’s see what Motorola has to offer. As a side note, Motorola will also unveil Moto G2 smartphone and a Moto 360 smartwatch at that event.
