Beginning August 17th, Best Buy will be selling the Electric Blue Samsung Galaxy S5 – the color that’s been absent since the device was announced back in February at Mobile World Congress. And to add on to that, Best Buy has the exclusive on that color. Similar to the HTC One M7 in blue last year that Best Buy sold exclusively. However, Best Buy will be selling it for Verizon, Sprint and AT&T, so I guess the exclusivity isn’t too bad. If you are a My Best Buy Member you can order yours as soon as August 15th. While the Galaxy S5 is priced at $99 on contract, that will only last until August 23rd, unfortunately. If you are buying the Galaxy S5 in Electric Blue on a new installment plan you will get a $100 Best Buy gift card, which is a neat incentive, probably thanks to the carriers. The latest addition to the Samsung Galaxy family – a new Electric Blue Samsung Galaxy S5 – will be available exclusively in Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile specialty stores and on BestBuy.com starting Sunday, Aug. 17.
The phone will launch at a discounted price of $99 ($100 off) for AT&T, Verizon Wireless and Sprint customers with a two-year contract. Or, if customers opt for one of the new monthly installment billing options including AT&T Next, Verizon Edge or Sprint Easy Pay, they can snag the Electric Blue Galaxy S5 for $0 down and receive a $100 Best Buy gift card with their activation.
With these monthly installment plans, qualified customers can pay $0 down and then pay off their new smartphone over 20-24 months. Installment customers also have the opportunity to get a new phone after 12 months. This pricing will also be extended to all Galaxy S5 colors from Aug. 17-23.
The promotional pricing with launch of the new Electric Blue GS5 will be available through Aug. 23.
