Cricket has really been targeting T-Mobile lately, not that anyone should be surprised. After coming out with their $100 switch credit for T-Mobile customers last week. They have now announced that you can get five lines of service on Cricket for just $100. That’s in comparison to T-Mobile’s 4 lines for $100. This is only valid through January 1st, 2015. Additionally, this pricing is on the $40/month plan. So that lines two, three, four and five get the discount and not the first line. The discount is $10, $20, $30, and $40 per month respectively. So you can get two lines for just $70/month, three lines for $90/month, four lines will be $100, and so will five lines, as the fifth line would be free. Not a bad deal at all from Cricket.
Many of you may be looking at Cricket a bit more now, since AT&T picked them up earlier this year and merged them with Aio, which was their own prepaid carrier before the acquisition. Cricket already has some pretty good plans, especially for running on AT&T’s network. Which is great. Those that don’t want to pay a lot, but want to have good service, Cricket is a great solution.
It’s really interesting to see Cricket going after T-Mobile pretty hard core. But then again, this is exactly what T-Mobile wanted. Lower prices and more competition and that’s exactly what they are getting right now. So my hat’s off to Legere and company. I’ve been looking at Cricket for a while, and thought about jumping that way. And with all these promotions, it’s making it hard to stay with T-Mobile. How many of you are taking a closer look at Cricket now, that we’ve really got a pricing war going on between AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile and their MVNO’s?
