If you ever thought of moving to Cricket Wireless, now is the time – especially if you are coming over from T-Mobile or MetroPCS. AT&T recently bought Cricket as their prepaid option for customers that do not want a contract and want competitive pricing. With one of the best networks out there, the service should be great no matter where you travel. As an added bonus to switch, AT&T, or I should say, Cricket Wireless, will give you a $100 credit on your new Cricket account if you give up your T-Mobile or MetroPCS account and port over your number. For $100 you should get three months of free service on their Basic $35 plan and two months of free service on their $45 Smart Plan or even their Pro Plan at $55 a month with a $5 a month credit given to an auto-pay account.
For the past year or so, T-Mobile has been bashing the other networks, but especially AT&T. Attacking T-Mobile and their MetroPCS prepaid division makes perfect sense…if you are going to dish it out, you have to be able to take it. T-Mobile has caused quite a disruption in the wireless market and has benefitted with an influx of customers from AT&T, Sprint and Verizon. This is just AT&T returning the favor, although we will have to wait and see how much it really helps Cricket Wireless.
There is no limit to the number of lines that you can switch over – you will get $100 per line. There is a limit of how long the offer is good – it is available from August 24 to October 19, 2014. Along with the $100 offer, Cricket Wireless claims there are five more reasons to switchover: More 4G LTE coverage than T-Mobile and MetroPCS, period – Taxes and fees included – no surprises, the price you see is the price you pay – A free smartphone every year with Cricket Rewards – Plans starting at $35 a month after $5 credit for using auto pay – No annual contracts.
Cricket vice president and chief marketing officer Janna Ducich says that, “T-Mobile and MetroPCS customers looking to switch will find the new Cricket a smart choice. We give consumers straightforward, affordable pricing, offer nationwide 4G LTE coverage, and reward their loyalty. And for the next few weeks, we’ll give them a $100 bill credit to see it for themselves.”
