Huawei Ascend Mate7 Goes Through TENAA

Huawei sent out some invites for their IFA Berlin event – most likely to reveal their upcoming flagship, the Ascend Mate 7.  Though there has been no official pictures of the device from Huawei, itself, it does appear that China’s TENAA agency (much like our FCC) has leaked some pictures which appear to be of the Ascend Mate 7.  The specs seem to bear out our earlier leaks, although the display seems to have a higher resolution on than the leaks, which had us believing it was only 720p.

The two variants are the MT7-CL00 and the MT7-TL00 – the CL00 has network support for GSM/CDMA/TD-LTE and the TL00 covers GSM/TD-SCDMA/TD-LTE.  Other than the network configuration, both of these devices share the exact same specifications.  The 6-inch TFT display is of the Full HD variety with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.  It is powered by one of their own Kirin Octa-Core processors clocked at 1.8GHz.  It packs 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage with a microSD card capable of adding 128GB of additional storage for all of your pictures, videos and music.  The Ascend Mate 7 has a 13MP main camera and a rather generous 5MP front-facing camera (FFC) for video chatting and taking selfies.  It is running Android 4.4.2 KitKat out of the box and measures in at 157 — 81 — 7.9 mm and weighs in at 185 grams. The MT7-CL00 comes in Black and White, while the MT7-TL00 adds a Gold variation as well.

Speaking of colors and looks – Huawei design of the Ascend Mate 7 looks a lot like the HTC One Max – complete with what looks like a fingerprint scanner under the camera lens.  The back panel has the same curve and look of the One Max, right down to the small design line from the top of the camera to the top of the device…the camera lens itself is square, more in line with the Samsung look.  The TENAA report does not mention a fingerprint scanner, but it definitely looks like some sort of biometric reader – if not a fingerprint scanner, possibly a heart rate monitor?

No release dates, market availability or pricing was given, but we will find out soon enough at IFA Berlin.  Please hook up with us on our Google+ Page and let us know if you would like to see this Huawei device hit you network…as always we would love to hear from you.
