Koodo's Mobile Mobile Charging Station – Goes Where You Go, in Person

We have all read about charging stations and wireless charging pads, Qi, Powermat, and so on – but what about the newest device: Koodo’s Mobile Mobile Charging Station or MMCS for short.  Koodo Mobile has always been a little ‘different’ from the other wireless carriers in Canada – they are not afraid to laugh at themselves, and I think that MMCS proves that for sure.  They have created “a life-like, fully mobile, walking charger that will redefine mobility in Toronto.”  It is quite a marketing stunt and should bring Koodo a lot of good publicity – the minute+ video itself is a real hoot so please make sure you watch it.

Koodo Mobile, started by one of Canada’s Big Three, TELUS in 2008, is the mobile brand that is geared more toward the younger crowd.  Koodo does not require a fixed term contract, yet provides both postpaid and prepaid services.  Koodos uses a feature called a Tab, which allows customers to accumulate credits towards a new phone.  Because it is a subsidiary of TELUS, Koodos is able to offer extensive coverage and has a strong presence in retailers.  Koodos is known for offering a good value for your dollar and generally attracts a younger crowd. Nathan Roth of Koodo Mobile says, “The Mobile Mobile Charging Station is a simple, fresh, and irreverent approach to customer service.  Here at Koodo, we pride ourselves on having our customers’ backs.  We’re constantly thinking outside of the box to provide the best experience possible.”

The MMCS will be walking around Toronto starting August 5 and will be attending several scheduled events.  The first one is August 8, from 5-10pm at the Taste of the Danforth.  Second event, is on August 15, from 4-9pm at the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE) in Toronto.  There are three movie premieres scheduled at the Luma at 350 King Street W that will be announced at a later date. Check out their website to keep track of him. They have even set up a hashtag, #KoodoHasMyBack and the @Koodocharger will actually answer you back…such as “Follow me and I’ll follow you.  In a totally non-creepy way.”  Or “Inspired by a battery, my suit was designed to look like a battery.”  And finally, “If you sleep on a pile of batteries, is it a power nap?”  So sit back and enjoy the Koodo ride, it looks like you might get a real ‘charge’ out of it.
