Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact To Carry A Snapdragon 801 And 3GB Of RAM

Sony’s Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact is all over the news lately, rumors are coming at an incredible pace. The tablet made an appearance in Sony’s documentation last week and within the last 24 hours Sony teased the thing alongside an unknown smartwatch. It seems Sony will launch this tablet at this year’s IFA.

After several leaks we finally get some specification rumors when it comes to this tablet. According to Android Origin’s tipster, Z3 Tablet Compact will sport an 8-inch 1080p TRILUMINOUS display (1920 x 1080) with anti-reflective coating on top of it. As for the processor, Sony will reportedly use the Snapdragon 801 once again instead of a Snapdragon 805. In fact, according to the tipster, they will use the same chip you can find in Xperia Z2 Tablet though it will be higher-clocked MSM8974AC variant of the chip. This tablet is also expected to pack 3GB of RAM for all your multitasking needs along with 16GB of storage. 8-megapixel Exmor RS camera will be located at the back of the device and this tablet will also be dust and water-resistant, as expected. LTE connectivity, Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC are all expected to make an appearance while the battery will most likely be rated at about 4,500 – 5,000mAh.

Android Origin says that this information comes from a trusted source, though of course, nothing is set in stone just yet. If this pans out in the end, Sony will have yet another great device on their hands. The question is can they sell it though, Sony will face fierce competition from the likes of the iPad Mini and an upcoming Nexus tablet which are both due in the next 1-2 months. Sony has been making really great devices for a while now (they could arguably downsize those bezels though), but they aren’t exactly pushing as much as they would like. Sony will most probably announce this tablet as part of its September 5th event at this year’s IFA in Berlin, so we’ll find out how credible this information is. Would you be interested in the Sony’s Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact if it were to carry the aforementioned specifications?
