How it Works: There are two different versions of Pho.to Lab to download, a free version as well as paid version. Download either of them to get access to a vast array of frames and effects, however some of them are only available with the pro version and the free version will put a little watermark on any of the photos you create here.
Upon launching the app, you’ll see a list of categories where you’ll find the different types of filters to choose from, sliding left or right will take you to seasonal and popular frames as well as a favorites section when you can bookmark your favorite filters.
I’ve just been on a holiday to Greece, so I’m going to go for a summer holiday type frame and I settled on one called “Ocean Paradise”.
I had a thing for buying crazy and colorful sunglasses while away on holiday, and I wanted to share this with a friend, so I chose my photo and cropped it to fit.
I then added some cool text and positioned it just nicely and hey presto! I had myself a cool fun image to share with my friends.
You can then download this image and sent to your friends or do whatever you want with it. This is just one small selection of what Pho.to Lab has to offer, with hundreds more available to download and play around with.
Opinion: Pho.to Lab is a great fun little app to play around with, it’s got hundred of different frames to play around with and yes, the usual array of colorful filters are available as well. These days, it’s so simple to take a photo of pretty much everything thanks to our smartphones, but these snapshots are often uninspiring and a little flat. With Pho.to Lab however, you can put your image on a calendar frame, a seasonal card for Christmas or something similar and really make something of your photos. Better yet, the app is really easy to use and it’s also fairly quick as well, with so much on offer, the only real way to see if this is for you is to just give it a go.
