Squarespace has announced this morning that they have launched two apps for Android. That’s their Blog and Note apps. These have been available on iOS for a few months now, since November 2013. And now they’ve made their way over to Android. They are both free, and allow you to keep up with your website from your Android smartphone, which is always a big plus. Especially if you don’t want to use WordPress.
Squarespace Blog for Android allows you to easily draft, post, schedule, and review posts, as well as monitor and manage comments on your blog. Squarespace Blog is fully integrated with LayoutEngine, allowing you to easily format text or Markdown, tap-and-drag images within your post, and modify detailed post settings on the go. Squarespace Note is a note taking app from Squarespace which is available on iOS (for those that might use iOS as well, it’s compatible with iOS 7 as well). It’s a clean and minimalistic note taking app from Squarespace.
It’s great to see these apps coming on over to Android from iOS. We’ve heard many great things about Squarespace, and know plenty of people that have websites made on the Squarespace platform, in fact Marques Brownlee has one that he’s working on. You may have heard of him before. We don’t use Squarespace here, but if we had to rebuild Android Headlines, we’d probably use Squarespace. That’s just how good they are.
So now you can update your blog on the road, you can take notes with the Squarespace Notes app, and hopefully the rest of their iOS apps will make their way over to Android in the near future. How many of you already have a website set up with Squarespace? Let us know in the comments below.
