Verizon Wireless Giving you an Extra Gig of Data on More Everything Plans for FREE

It’s not often Verizon gives you stuff you want for free. So when they do, you’d better jump on it. Verizon announced their MORE Everything plans earlier this year, with More data and a few other goodies, and now they are offering an extra gigabyte of data for free. You’ll have to be eligible, and Verizon hasn’t said what you have to do to be eligible, but we’re hoping you just need to be on a MORE Everything plan. However, Verizon’s press release notes you’ll need to activate a new smartphone on your plan or add a new line, which is unfortunate. Verizon will add an extra gigabyte of data to your plan each month for two years. Which is a pretty decent deal. Especially since it’s free.

For those unaware, Verizon’s MORE Everything plans range from 250MB plans all the way up to 100GB. So if you’re on the 250MB plan this is a pretty big deal, as you jump to 1.2GB of data instead of just 250MB. If you’ve got a 3GB plan, that extra gig to get to 4GB can come in handy. Seeing as Verizon typically charges $10 per gigabyte when you go over your data cap.

So if you activate a new smartphone or add a new line, you’d get an extra gigabyte, which is a $10 value. Over the course of two years, that’d be $240 value. It’s not a lot, but it is something, and better than nothing, right? Maybe this is Verizon attempting to fight back against Sprint and T-Mobile’s price war they’ll be starting really soon. Especially with Sprint having an event tomorrow? Who knows.

How many of you are planning to jump on this deal from Verizon? It’s a good deal, just not a great deal. And if you live in an area where other carriers are not a choice, then it’s a pretty good deal. Let us know in the comments down below.
