Celkon Launch Campus Mini A350 in India
Celkon have released their latest device in India and it’s one for those looking for something small or a great choice for a first smartphone. The Campus Mini A350 is a KitKat device running a dual-core CPU that supports dual-SIM and features a 3.5-inch 480 x 320 display and a 3.2-megapixel rear-facing camera. There’s no denying that the Mini A350 isn’t a great device, but it does cost just RS 3,799 making this one of the cheaper devices out there and if you know someone in need of a first smartphone, this isn’t the worst choice out there.
HTC Butterfly 2 Leaks Out in Promo Material; Suggests Waterproof Device
While Samsung and Sony have waterproof devices in their lineup, HTC has stayed away from introducing a device willing to get wet. A leak for the upcoming Butterfly 2 however, suggests that it’ll be HTC’s first waterproof device. The Butterfly 2 is said to feature many of the software features of the HTC One and the same Snapdragon 801 and 5-inch 1080p display like the M8. As with the HTC One E8, the device is to feature a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and should be on sale throughout Asia later this month or September.
Panasonic Launch Eluga A Launches with 5-inch Display
Panasonic might have bowed out of the Japanese smartphone market, but they’re slowly ramping up their efforts in India. The Eluga A is their latest device with a 5-inch 854 x 480 display powered by a Snapdragon 200 that features an 8-megapixel camera and a 2,000 mAh battery. The specs aren’t all that, but Panasonic have added some interesting software features like double-tap to wake and other software enhancements. For the Indian market though, the most important thing is going to be price and the Eluga A costs just RS 9,490.
Xiaomi to Introduce LTE-Capable RedMi
Xiaomi’s RedMi has become a big hit for the Chinese giant, no thanks to the fact that it’s affordable and carries of the same features many expect from a Mi device. It’s been around for some time now though, and with LTE networks taking off in China, it’s no surprise that the RedMi is getting a little bit of an upgrade on the inside to run on these new and faster networks that are popping up all over the place in China. Even though the RedMi will continue to use the MT6589 CPU, the inclusion of a MT6290 LTE chip will allow it to run on LTE in China. The upgrade won’t be adding much to the cost either, as the price tag will still be a very reasonable 699 Yuan.
iBall Andi 5K Panther Launches with KitKat for RS 10,499
It seems that now devices are shipping with KitKat regularly in India, everyone has a new phone to announce and here’s another one from iBall. The Andi 5K Panther is a 5-inch (960 x 540) device running Android 4.4 KitKat as well as a 1.4 Ghz octa-core CPU and an 8-megapixel camera. There’s a 1,900 mAh battery under the hood here and overall we’re looking at a device device for not much more than RS 10,000, but it would be nice to see at least a 720p display here.
Samsung Galaxy Alpha Heading to All Major UK Networks
EE might have been one of the first to come out and say that the Galaxy Alpha will be available on their network, but now Three, O2 and Vodafone have joined in. From September onwards, the Galaxy Alpha will be available on all major UK networks on a variety of different tariffs including of course, 4G. However, the UK’s networks aren’t quite up to the 300mbps speeds supported by the Alpha. The metal-clad device is more than likely going to cost a pretty penny, but we don’t have exact prices just yet.
