ZTE Hint That the Nubia Z7 Line is Headed to India

ZTE’s Nubia brand has become something of a high-end show of just what ZTE can do when they really focus on the best they can do. However, they often don’t make their way outside of China, which is a real shame. As the Facebook comment above shows however, it looks like the Nubia Z7 line could be headed to India very soon. If you’re unfamiliar with the Z7 line of Nubia devices, take a look here, but with Xiaomi and now ZTE’s Nubia brand on its way to India it looks like those in the region have even more choice to choose from.

HTC Announce Waterproof Butterfly 2

HTC’s Butterfly line has proven popular for them throughout Asia and now the true successor to the original, the Butterfly 2 has been launched with a few surprises. For the most part, the Butterfly 2 is cut from the same cloth as the HTC One (M8), but the company has put together some interesting additions and changes for the Asian market, especially in Japan. Powered by a Snapdragon 801, 2GB of RAM and featuring a Full HD 5-inch display with a 13-megapixel DuoCamera, the Butterfly 2 is definitely a member of the One family. You can check out the full specs and such here, but the real headlining feature with this is the inclusion of waterproofing, making the Butterfly 2 the first waterproof device from HTC and yet it still retains BoomSound speakers and for those in Japan they can expect an exclusive pair of JBL earphones when they purchase theirs. The Butterfly 2 is go to sale throughout Asia and is to focus on Japan, but it will be headed to China, Taiwan as well as India in the coming months, too.

Alcatel Bring One Touch Hero and Others to India at Long Last

Alcatel held a little event in India this week and debuted a number of other One Touch devices that have been on sale elsewhere for quite some time, but the biggest news was the launch of the One Touch Hero. While it’s a device that isn’t big on specs, it’s certainly a large device. At 6-inches, the One Touch Hero packs a Full HD 1080p display and is powered by a MediaTek MT6589T (which sadly means this is still running Android 4.2.2), but it does come with a stylus as well as a stylish flip case as well. With 2GB of RAM, a 13-megapixel camera and a large 3,400 mAh the One Touch Hero could easily offer people a low-cost alternative to the Galaxy Note 3 or the Galaxy Note 3 Neo which is still too expensive in our opinion. Pricing is still a little all over the place, but the top-end of their newly announced devices seems to be RS 30,000.

Samsung Launches the Galaxy S5 4G+ in Singapore

Much like the Galaxy S5 LTE-A that launched in South Korea earlier this year, to a little controversy thanks to the inclusion of a 2560 x 1440 display, Samsung is announcing yet another Galaxy S5. This time around, the device has been announced with SingTel in Singapore and still features the Snapdragon 805 at the heart of the South Korea-exclusive, but doesn’t feature more RAM and still sports a 1080p AMOLED display rather than sporting 3GB of RAM and a Quad HD panel. It’s a shame to see that the 2560 x 1440 equipped model still isn’t leaving South Korea, but we can hardly say we’re surprised.

Karbonn Titanium S19 Launches with 5-megapixel Front-Facing Camera

It seems that the selfie phenomenon is no longer something big in Japan and the States, as Karbonn are launching a device with selfie-superpowers. Or at least, that’s what they want us to think. The Titanium S19 is actually a fairly decent device overall for its asking price of RS 8,999 with a 5-inch 720p display, Android 4.4 KitKat running the show, a 1.3 Ghz quad-core CPU and 1GB of RAM. It also features a 13-megapixel camera as well as a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, which is great for selfies. Other specs include a 2,000 mAh battery and dual-SIM support.

Sony’s Selfie-Focused Xperia C3 Goes on Sale in Russia

Earlier in the year, Sony announced the Xperia C3, a device designed to take excellent Selfies thanks to the large, wide-angle lens staring at you all day with its 5-megapixel resolution. Elsewhere, the Xperia C3 is like any other mid-range Xperia, it’s powered by a Snapdragon 400, features a large 5.5-inch display with a 720p resolution and looks like an Xperia device. It’s got stereo speakers at the front and other nice touches like a dedicated camera key. It’s just gone on sale in Russia with a price tag of RUB 13,990 which is hardly cheap, but then smartphones often retail higher in Russia. Still, we’re pretty sure that the device will be hitting other markets very shortly.
