This week in Berlin, IFA 2014 is just getting started with the likes of Acer and ASUS announcing their products before the show even starts. Of course, a lot of us are all looking forward to hearing from the likes of Samsung and Sony, with the Galaxy Note 4 a dead cert to be announced later on today. While Samsung is holding an Unpacked event later on today, it seems that there’s still time for more leaks to appear ahead of Samsung’s official announcement later on today and it appears that Samsung isn’t going to announce just one device later on today, but two.
Android Police have been handed, via an anonymous tip, a pretty substantial leak of the Galaxy Note 4 and the Galaxy Note Edge. The image shows a black Galaxy Note Edge and a white Galaxy Note 4 with the Note Edge featuring curved edges on either side of the device, with the display sort of overflowing to either side of the device. This is the same sort of example for Samsung’s flexible display technology that they showed off quite some time ago. It’s pretty obvious that this sort of display is going to be used for notifications and that sort of thing when rested on a table, but it also looks like the Galaxy Note Edge is a little larger than the Note 4, or at least that’s what we’re getting from this press image, anyway but then again these do look like renders so the proportions won’t add up perfectly.
While there’s no telling just what the Galaxy Note Edge is going to offer in terms of specs or features, it’s pretty safe to say that the Edge will follow in the footsteps of the Note 4. We only have a few hours to go before Samsung takes wraps off of both the Galaxy Note 4 and the Galaxy Edge, and possibly even more. So stay tuned as we get more info.
