ALCATEL ONETOUCH HERO 8 Tablet Announced with Octa-Core CPU and Full HD Display

ALCATEL ONETOUCH HERO 8 tablet announced at the IFA Berlin event is an 8-inch tablet with octa-core performance and they claim is perfect for gaming, downloading and watching movies, browsing the web and more.  At 7.3mm thin and only 310 grams, it is one of the thinnest and lightest tablet s on the market today.  It has a fully protective aluminum body giving it an elegant look and puts it right up there with the newest tablets on the market.

With its octa-core processor, the HERO 8 enables smooth music and video streaming, downloading apps and movies in seconds, rather than minutes.  It is a tablet the entire family can enjoy – games will look good and run smoothly, so the kids are covered and yet powerful enough for serious work that parents often need…not to mention watching movies and videos and browsing the web – for the entire family to enjoy.  Tablets are great for reading newspapers, magazines and books…why buy a separate device to read a book?

HERO 8 is a Miracast-certified device, which means that it can perform multiple functions – users can transmit video or audio files from the tablet directly to a TV or monitor…and do it all wirelessly without using a separate router.  With the TV Mate feature, your HERO 8 tablet can act as a universal remote control.  The HERO 8 can connect via Bluetooth to phones, headphones and speakers.  It is compatible with and 4G, Wi-Fi or Bluetooth-connected device.

ALCATEL ONETOUCH mobile devices are coming with an entire ecosystem of products to enhance your ownership.  There is a MagicFlip LED cover that allows the user to see LED notifications for incoming emails, and alerts even when the cover is closed.  Sidekick 2 is a companion device that users can use to control their TV, music and more…it can also acts as an extension of the tablet allowing users to remotely access messages, contact lists and more.

The HERO 8 has an 8-inch WUXGA FHD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels.  It is powered by a MediaTek octa-core processor with MTK 8392+MTK 6290 (LTE) with 2GB of RAM.  It comes with 16GB of internal storage and also a microSD card slot to add an additional 32GB of storage.  The main camera is 5MP and a 2MP Front-Facing Camera (FFC) for video chatting and selfies.  The entire tablet is powered by a 4,060mAh battery and comes with Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box and should be available in September, although no exact date or pricing were given.
