Another day, and another Android L build in the Chromium tracker. This time, there’s a video to go along with it. Usually when we see new builds in the Chromium tracker, all we see is the build number – which we usually decipher to figure out when the build was made. But this time we’ve got a nice video to go along with it. Which is always nice.
In this video, we see Android L, obviously, in what looks like the Chrome browser. Now we have no proof as to whether this is Chrome or Chrome Beta. But I’m not sure that matters at this point. The user goes to play a video on the Discovery Channel’s webpage. Then goes to open a new tab, and that’s when the force close happens, well crash technically. But what’s interesting there is that it only closes the new tab not the one he had open already on the Discovery channel’s website. Which is pretty cool.
Thanks to Android Police, who put the picture at the top of this post together. It shows Android L Developer Preview, side-by-side the one in that video. So you can see a few differences. For one the navigation bar icons are now smaller and a bit bolder. Another thing is the status bar. In the status bar you’ll see that the clock is also a bit smaller and bolder, and so are the other icons. The WiFi icon actually looks like the one in the theme from the OnePlus One.
So these are small UI tweaks that Google may be playing around with before Android L launches in a month or so. As they are small things, we may or may not see them in the final release, which we hope is soon. As I know I’m not the only one anxious to get my hands on a more stable build of Android L.
