LG has really stepped up its game over the last few years. Their G line od devices starting with the Optimus G and ending with the most recent G3 is really solid. Many people prefer the G3 over the other flagships released this year, like the HTC One (M8), Samsung Galaxy S5, Sony Xperia Z3, etc. There’s a good reason for that, LG managed to differentiate by making stuffing a 5.5-inch QHD display in a relatively compact phone (taking the screen size into consideration) and not only that but that phone is beautiful all around. They finally payed attention to details when they were making this thing and have even managed to clean up their software a bit and make a solid camera, so the overall experience has vastly improved. That being said, Samsung launched their extremely popular phablet, Galaxy Note 4, just a few days ago. Apple on the other hand is going to unveil their new iPhone today, so LG is probably a bit worried about the sales of LG G3. Why do I say this? Well, they just announced a new time limited promotion for US during which you get a free battery and charging cradle if you purchase the G3. LG announced that customers who purchase G3 from “major carriers” and authorized retailers (both online and offline) are going to receive the aforementioned goodies. Extra battery and charging cradle are worth $70, so you’re really going to save some cash if you purchase this device until September 22 when the promotion ends. You can get the G3 for about $199 off-contract or approximately $600 on-contract, depending where you buy it.
As a side note, LG’s flagship sports a 5.5-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) display along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD card up to 128GB). The device is powered by a Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor clocked at 2.5GHz which comes with Adreno 330 GPU. 13-megapixel camera is located at the back of the device and sports a laser autofocus and a dual LED, dual tone flash. Front-facing camera is 2.1-megapixel sensor and the phone comes with a removable 3000mAh battery. Android 4.4.2 KitKat comes pre-installed on the device with LG’s custom UI on top of it.
This seems like a great offer if you intend to purchase a G3 in the US. You have until September 22 to decide whether to go for it or not, let us know if you got the goodies while purchasing the device.
