Earlier today during their press conference in Berlin, Sony unleashed their lineup of Xperia Z3 devices during IFA 2014. Not only did they announce the new Xperia Z3 that we all expected, they announced a few more devices including a smaller, but no less powerful Xperia Z3 Compact and the budget-minded Xperia E3. Sony might have only just taken wraps off of their new devices, but people have already announced whether or not they’re going to be carrying the devices on their network. T-Mobile in the US have grabbed exclusivity over the Xperia Z3, but across the pond in the UK, things are little more varied.
EE, the nation’s largest network with the most 4G coverage have announced that they’ll be offering not just he Xperia Z3 but the Xperia Z3 Compact and for those more budget conscious, the Xperia E3. All three of these devices are colorful and well, they’re Xperia Z devices, they all look similar to their predecessors but the Xperia Compact Z3 is perhaps the real star of the show here. The Xperia Z3 is more or less a refined Xperia Z2, but the Xperia Z3 Compact is a 4.6-inch 2.5 Ghz powerhouse, packing the same specs as its bigger brother. That means the same 20.7-megapixel camera and the same Snapdragon 801 and 3GB of RAM, all in a compact offering to keep things nice and portable.
The E3 meanwhile is more of a budget-minded handset, but it still offers similar Xperia features and it’ll more than likely be available for a lot less than either of the other two here and it’ll also be available on EE’s 4G network and still be affordable. If you’re in the market to finally upgrade to 4G in the UK and fancy these new Sony Xperia devices, then EE might be a good bet with it being available in 263 major towns and cities across the UK, as well as over 2,500 smaller towns and villages, covering 75% of the population.
