Elephone Announced 3 New Budget Smartphones Featuring MediaTek's Chips

Elephone has grown a lot in the last year, they have increased their Chinese market share and are coming strong yet again. This Hong Kong-based company has announced three new smartphones, which means the company has released 18 devices in total, though they’re not all smartphones. Smartphones and wearables count for most devices and they company has even a home monitoring system under its belt. Talking about the newly released smartphone, company introduced Elephone G4, G5 and G6 smartphone devices.

Elephone G4 has a metal build and comes with a  5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) IPS display, 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage (expandable via MicroSD card). The device is powered by MediaTek’s MT6582 quad-core processor and comes with Android 4.4 KitKat pre-installed with Elephant’s skin on top of it. Camera and flash are clearly included, but the company didn’t release any details on those, at least not for this model. Elephant markets this device as a first budget phone which comes with quad-core processor and an HD display. Many of you would disagree with that and Moto G probably comes to mind, but Elephant has a different definition of the word “budget”, this device costs only 499 Yuan ($81), which is extremely affordable no matter which way you look at it. Take this device’s build into consideration and it is really something people might consider buying.

Elephone G5 features a 5.5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) IPS display just like the G4. This device sports the same MediaTek chip as the G4, same goes for the amount of RAM. You’ll find 8GB of internal storage in this device which is expandable via MicroSD card up to 64GB. The device comes with a 13-megapixel main camera flanked by a dual LED flash while a 5-megapixel camera is located at the front of the device. This is a dual SIM device and comes with Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box as the G4, this device as the other two also has Elephant’s skin on top of Google’s OS. 3020mAh battery can also be found inside of this device. This device is priced at 599 Yuan, which is approximately $98 and also really affordable. You can get a replaceable battery covers for this device in pink, baby pink, purple, yellow, green, blue and white colors.

Elephone G6 is the most expensive out of these three devices and yet it is extremely affordable as well. This device will set you back 699 Yuan which is about $113. International price is rumored to be around $150 if you decide to get this device through resellers. That being said, this device also sports a 5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) IPS display as the other 2 phones. MediaTek’s MT6592 octa-core chip clocked at 1.7GHz is powering this thing along with Mali-450 GPU for graphics processing. The device comes with 1GB of RAM and has the same rear-facing camera as the G5, a 13-megapixel shooter. This device also comes with a fingerprint scanner which is located at the back of the phone.

All three of these phones will reach international markets as well, they support GSM and WCDMA networks. What are your thoughts here? Keep in mind these are extremely affordable devices. I personally think this is a perfect price point and Elephone might sell tons of these devices, with just a bit of luck.
