Google Now is great for a variety of reminders, holding you up to date on the weather and stock you care about, as well as updating your favorite sports teams’ game scores. But one thing we haven’t seen since Android Police pointed it out in May of this year is bill reminders/cards. Yeah, Google can plug in to your Gmail for a lot of things, from tracking your package from mom to letting you know when your bill is due. A simple email in your inbox lets Google know to remind you to pay the bills. But the one downside is that almost nobody has been seeing the new feature.
That may change soon, if it hasn’t already. The folks at Android Police have been reporting that more and more of them have seen this helpful little card pop up on their Google Now lists. The bills reminder has a listing of the amount or total due on your next bill, as well as the option to view the email containing the information that prompted the card. Also worth noting is that the card will give the name of the person to be paid, as well as the due date for payment too. But what can we expect in the coming weeks and months regarding Google Now and your bills?
Well, since some of the bill cards that have been spotted have as little information as name of person to be paid, due date, and email viewing, and as much utility as perhaps viewing previous balances on the past bills from the biller(s). The big changes to come and be seen are those that will stem from integration and compatibility between Google and the biller that sent the email. What do you hope to see as the rolling out of the bills card continues? What kind of functionality do you think that Google and the various billers will offer us, and just as important, what do you hope that Google is able to work magic to achieve with functionality and integration? Let us know your thoughts, and especially if you have seen and/or used the bills card before.
