Google Nexus 6 / X : What size will it be?

The Nexus 6 is nearly upon us, and we’ve heard rumors that we’ll see a 5.2-inch model as well as a 5.9-inch model. And in fact, the rumor was that if people thought the 5.2-inch Moto X was too big, that Google would drop the 5.9-inch model from Motorola. Evidentally, Motorola is making both, according to rumors we’ve seen and heard. Now when the 5.9-inch Nexus 6 popped up in the rumor mill, that seemed to have pissed off a lot of people, as Nexus fans don’t really want a large phone. They’d much rather a typical sized one around 4.7-inches. And going from a 4.95-inch Nexus 5 to a 5.9-inch Nexus 6 is a pretty big jump. In fact, I don’t think any other phone has had that big of a jump before.

There also came the rumor of a 5.2-inch Nexus 6. Which is a lot closer to what we were expecting. And if Motorola is making it, I think a lot of people will be happy. Seeing as they do use pretty small bezels and make the phone feel smaller than it actually is, case in point the new Moto X. It looks like the Nexus 6 is going to be modeled after the Moto X, but we likely won’t see any of Motorola’s features in the Nexus 6. And that dimple may even be gone. I wouldn’t count on Moto maker either for the Nexus 6. Although it would be a nice change.

In the past, we haven’t seen two sizes of Nexus smartphones. So if Google goes with a 5.2-inch and a 5.9-inch Nexus 6, it’ll be real interesting to see which one sells out first. I’d much rather a 5.2-inch Nexus 6, what about the rest of you? Be sure to let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
