In a recent update, Google removed the ability to search for public playlists, in the Google Play Music App. Of course, this was only for those that had All Access anyways. We’re guessing that perhaps it wasn’t really ready when they pulled the trigger, but now we’re guessing that it is ready for primetime as it is in today’s update. Oh and we have the APK down below for anyone looking for it. This is version 5.6.1623P.1416251 and requires Android 2.3 and above, which should be just about everyone out there.
The changelog that Google has uploaded to Google Play is really minimal and only lists Public Playlist search, actually. Although, I’m sure many will be tearing down the APK soon to see what other hints of stuff they can find in that APK for future releases and features. We’ll have to keep our eye out for that. Remember that if you don’t subscribe to Google Play Music All Access then this won’t really make much of a difference for you. The reason being is that the changes in this update is for All Access, and not just Google Play Music as a whole. So you could just wait for it to roll out to you.
For those with All Access, we do have the APK link down below, because we know you want the update right now, and not in a few days right? The update is about 8.5MB in size and will replace your current version of Google Play Music. To install, make sure that “Unknown Sources” is checked in the settings, then go ahead and download this APK and open it up. It should then install without any issues. How many of you are loving this update from Google Play Music? Let us know in the comments below.
