Well here’s some interesting news. After HTC sent out invites to their event on October 8th, earlier this week. We’ve begun to slowly see newer rumors for their event. Earlier this morning, we reported that HTC is working on a waterproof camera – a la GoPro – that will attach to the back of your phone. And now we’re hearing from @Upleaks that the HTC M8 Eye will be announced at their event next month in New York City. Additionally, it’s going to have the same hardware as the One M8, with a few differences. One of those differences – I’d have to imagine – is the camera. Seeing as this one is supposed to be all about the camera, hence the “Double Exposure” tagline.
We’ve seen previous rumors state that the HTC Eye would be heading to all four carriers, and well we haven’t heard anything different in that manner yet. However, at the rate that things are leaking out right now, it seems like we’ll have more info in the coming days about the HTC M8 Eye. Hopefully that’s just a codename and not the real name of the smartphone though. Because that is a pretty terrible name, at least in my opinion.
The HTC Eye is supposedly going to be a selfie-centric smartphone with a really high megapixel-count front-facing camera. 2014 seems to be the year of the selfie as just about every manufacturer has a feature on their flagship smartphone with the word “selfie” in it, except for Motorola, so far. Either way, we’ll find out everything on October 8th, as HTC does have an event in New York City for this announcement. How many of you are interested in the HTC M8 Eye? Or are you tired of the Selfie stuff? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
