Chinese company, Huawei, not yet a household name in the U.S. – but soon hopes to be – has just released another great looking, high-end device in India in its Honor series – the Honor 6. It will be available in Black or White colors and will be exclusively available in India on Flipkart starting October 6 with a respectable price of Rs.19999, or about US$445.
It has a nice look to it with a full aluminum alloy frame, rounded edges for easy holding and a subtle and small diamond-style texture on the back. It sports a 5-inch Full HD LTPS display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and features a 10-point multi-touch screen. The Kirin 920 Octa-Core processor running four A15’s clocked at 1.7GHz and four A7’s clocked at 1.3GHz powers the device and it packs a Mali T628 GPU. This is backed with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory that is expandable via a microSD card slot. The Honor 6 also has the Dual SIM capability. A 3100mAh battery provides power to the Honor 6 and includes Huawei’s new Patented Power Saving Technology promising, 30% more battery life compared to other smartphones.
Even in the camera area, the Honor 6 maintains its higher standards – a 13MP main camera uses a Sony BSI sensor and sports an F2.0 aperture and a Dual-LED flash and even the front-facing camera (FFC) is 5MP for an excellent chatting experience and great selfies. It comes ready with Android 4.4.4 KitKat running Huawei’s Emotion UI 2.3 on top.
