In San Francisco, Intel has shown off some new products at the Intel Developers Forum. One of the tablets they showed off were of a new Android tablet by Dell that consist of an 8.4-inch OLED display. The tablet also comes with a super slim design and Intel’s RealSense 3D camera. This 8 inch Android tablet isn’t the only slab Intel showed off at their event. The company gave a brief glimpse of their new 10 inch Android tablet dubbed the Dell Venue 10. As like the rest of the products they unveiled at IDF which will be talked about later, Dells new 10 inch tablet is a 2-in-1, meaning that you can hook this tablet up with a keyboard and use it as a notebook. So in essence, you can have an Android tablet and an Android Notebook.
Unfortunately, there isn’t too much detail about this new Dell tablet. All we know is that the tablet is super thin and has this bulky cylinder piece on the edge of the device. That little area is probably where the keyboard will connect and also where the charger port will probably be placed. To break things down even more, the Dell Venue 10 resembles Lenovo’s Yoga line of Android tablets which have that same exact cylindrical section on the edge. The last little tidbit of information we have for the Dell Venue 10 is how the keyboard connects to the tablet. A magnetic connector is what holds the keyboard to the tablet instead of built in kickstands like the Lenovo Yoga.
With the Dell Venue 10 on the way, Intel showed off a few other devices at IDF like the Acer Aspire Switch 12, HP Envy x2, and Lenovo Thinkpad Helix, which are all 2-in-1’s. While information for these products are really vague, we do know for a fact that these tablets will run on Intel’s 14nm Core M processor. We also know that with this new processor, portable device can get extremely thin and light. In addition, the new line of Intel powered tablets will be released some time in October. Drop your thoughts about these new 2-in-1’s in the comments section below.
