The Motorola Moto G 2nd Gen. is also official right now. And it did grow a bit, when compared to the old Moto G which Motorola still touts as their best selling smartphone ever. Which still doesn’t surprise me as they usually had exclusives either in location or carrier, prior to the Moto G. Motorola also stated that they are #2 in Brazil now (largely thanks to the Moto G and Moto E) and #3 in India. As well as jumping from 0% market share in the UK to about 6% now.
But back to the Moto G. Motorola stated that they listened to their customers when developing the new Moto G. The original Moto G was a great device, that is only going to get better as time goes on. And a lot of people asked for a larger display, and bam, it’s got a 5-inch display. They also asked for a microSD card slot, Motorola granted that wish as well. The Moto G is available in both single SIM and Dual SIM variants. Which Dual SIM is a big deal outside of the US.
The new Moto G features a 5-inch 1280×720 resolution IPS display (that’s 294PPI for those wondering), there’s also a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor inside that’s a quad-core 1.2GHz chipset. It’s also got the Adreno 305 GPU inside. There’s 8GB or 16GB of internal storage, along with a microSD card slot that supports up to 32GB of storage. Motorola packed in a 8MP camera on the back and a 2MP front-facing camera. There’s also front-facing speakers, which are amazing.
We’ve just gotten our hands on this device, so haven’t done too much with it just yet. But you can expect a ton more coverage of the Moto G in the next few days and weeks. Motorola will be launching it this year for $179. That’s right, the same price as the original Moto G. How many of you are interested in the new Moto G?
