Motorola Moto G Available Today In The US, UK, France, And More

Motorola announced the updated Moto G today, increasing the screen size and upgrading the camera on an already excellent low-cost device. The new Moto G is better than ever. The cost for the device is, somehow, the same as it was before.

The new Moto G has been upgraded from a 4.5-inch display to a full 5 inches, adding some extra screen real estate and making photos and videos more enjoyable to view. It now has stereo speakers on the front, so music will sound even better now, too. The positioning of the speakers is key. Having them facing forward instead of on the back or even the bottom of the device means that you’ll hear audio from your Moto G crisply. The camera has been upgraded to an 8-megapixel shooter, too.

The new Moto G has a 2070 mAh battery that should get you through a full day and then some without a problem. The original Moto G had good battery life. The new Moto G will be an improvement on that. Motorola has really improved the Moto G in almost every way, not changing too much but iterating on an already solid device. The phone is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor clocked at 1.2GHz. The graphics will be smooth just like they were on the older model, even with the larger display to support. It still comes with a pure Android experience, running on Android 4.4 KitKat that is vanilla Android as it gets. You don’t have to deal with manufacturer bloatware that can bog down the device. That will also save on storage space for you.

You will be able to customize your phone with Motorola Shells, just like with the previous version. You have the choice of a white or a black front for the phone. Then you can swap out the back to get different colors to get a new look whenever you want. Motorola is also making it easy to migrate to the new Moto G from any Android phone running Android 2.2 Froyo or higher, using the Motorola Migrate app.

The new Moto G is available right now, off-contract, for just $179.99. That’s an insane price for a phone that’s going to treat you as well as this one will. It’s actually the same price as the previous version of the Moto G. Motorola has upgraded this device but kept the cost the exact same. The phone is available in the US, India, France, UK, Brazil, Spain, and through Motorola’s website in Germany. The plan is to roll it out to over a dozen more countries before the end of the year.
