Oppo caught the world’s attention when the company launched Oppo N1 phablet last year. That device sported great build and a rather weird but effective rotating camera on the of the device. Back in June, Oppo announced world’s thinnest 4G LTE smartphone (at least it was back then, I’m not sure if it still is) called Oppo R3. This device features a 5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) IPS LCD display along with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage (expandable via MicroSD card up to a whopping 128GB). The device is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 400 processor clocked at 1.6GHz which comes with Adreno 305 GPU. 8-megapixel camera is located at the back of the device while there’s a 5-megapixel camera on the front for your video call and selfie needs. 2410mAh battery is packed inside and Android 4.3 JellyBean comes pre-installed with Oppo’s ColorOS on top of it. The device measures 142.3 x 70.4 x 6.3mm, so it is just 6.3mm thick. Oppo R3 also has a metallic trim and base construction as you can see in the images.
If you live in China, you can now pre-order the device straight from Oppo if you follow the source link down below. From what I could gather from Oppo’s Chinese online store, pre-orders are open until September 23rd when they will start shipping the devices. If you decide to purchase this device you’ll get 5200mAh external battery, screen protector and the original protective shell. You can get the device for 2,399 Yuan which is about $390, that seems a bit steep to be quite honest. The device does sport a great build quality, but considering its specifications I really don’t think it’s worth it. That’s just my opinion though, I don’t doubt many of you would disagree. There’s still no info when (and if) will this device be available globally via Oppo’s international store. As a side note, Oppo teased an October event earlier today, we might see Oppo N1’s successor launched there, so stay tuned if you’re interested. Until then, tell us whether you like the Oppo R3?
