Oppo's N3 to Be of Lithium-Aluminium Build, Will be Super-Light

Oppo’s N3 has to be one of the company’s worst kept secrets of the past few years however, it’s also not surprising to see the device leak out and be teased by Oppo themselves over these past few weeks. In China, social media is one of the best ways for manufacturers like Oppo to build up hype for their upcoming devices, and interaction in the Far East far outstrips even our usage here in the West. Recently, the company took to their Weibo account to hint at a possible Lithium-based metal build for the N3, which would of course make it one of the lightest metallic devices on the market and now, the company is back teasing, with even more information this time around.

The above picture was shared by Oppo’s own Weibo account and basically makes us sure that Oppo is preparing a nice and light handset, and this also confirms that the N3 is to feature a fairly traditional build as smartphone designs go. Moreover, Oppo’s CEO, Chenming Yong, took to Weibo himself to shout-out that lithium-aluminium has one-third the density of Steel and yet still manages to be comparable in strength and that the metal is a lot lighter. Let’s just hope a lithium-aluminium build doesn’t bend, am I right?

We still haven’t all that much about the internals of the Oppo N3, but with an announcement surely looming on the horizon, we wouldn’t be surprised to see Oppo teasing some details themselves on Chinese social media. In the mean time, it’d be safe to assume that the N3 will feature some sort of Snapdragon 800 series processor, as Oppo have often used Qualcomm’s chips in their high-end devices, and we can’t see this year’s N-series device being any different. Are you looking forward to the Oppo N3, or will you be holding out even longer for the successor of the Find 7? Let us know in the comments below.
