There are a ton of smartphone manufacturers all over the world, some are more popular than others. Pioneer definitely doesn’t belong in the extremely popular group when it comes to manufacturing smartphones, a vast majority of people have probably never even heard of a Pioneer-made smartphone. Pioneer definitely belongs in that category. The company has announced that their new Pioneer K88L device will see the light of day on September 15th. The device will sports 5.5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) screen and is powered by MediaTek’s MT6592 octa-core processor which is extremely popular nowadays, especially when it comes to Chinese devices. You get 1GB of RAM 8GB of internal storage when you purchase this device (no word if it’s expandable, I guess it is though considering the low amount of internal storage) and 2500mAh battery. 13-megapixel dual-camera is located on the back of the device while there’s a 5-megapixel shooter on the front. Android 4.4 KitKat comes pre-installed on this device with Lewa OS on top of it. Dolby Audio is also part of the package and the device supports 13 frequencies. It is compatible with China Mobile TD-LTE 4G internet and China Unicom TD-LTE/FDD-LTE, which in plain words means the device supports dual-4G. It has dual SIM capabilities though it supports one dual-frequency SIM at a time. NFC is also integrated in this device.
That “dual-camera” part might have caught your eye, unfortunately I don’t know why is it called that. I see only one camera on the images down below , perhaps there’s some sort of feature integrated or something, will let you know as soon as we find out what’s it all about. As you can see in the images below the devices looks really good and it seems rather thin. It sports a similar circle to Meizu’s MX devices below the screen. This device will sell for 1799 Yuan which is about $293. No info on availability or anything of the sort at this point, we’ll know more about the phone and its features on September 15th, so stay tuned if you’re interested. Truth be told, this price seems a bit steep for a device like this, that’s just my opinion though.
