Samsung Explains the Galaxy Note 4 using an Infographic

After the less than stellar sales performance of the Samsung Galaxy S5 – their main ‘bread and butter’ device – Samsung had a lot riding on their Galaxy Note 4, announced at IFA Berlin the beginning of this month.  So far criticism has been held to a minimum as we await all of the in depth reviews that will soon be hitting the airwaves.  The new Galaxy Note 4 has many features that separate it from other phablets and smartphones – Samsung wanted to point out the many specs and features of their beautiful Galaxy Note 4, so they sent out an Infographic, shown below, to highlight those items.

The metal framed Galaxy Note 4 carries with it a 5.7-inch display and packs it a body that measures only 78.6mm wide x 151.3mm high and only 8.5mm thick and weighs in at 176 grams.  Along with a beautifully sculptured metal frame, the removable back is covered in faux leather and comes to us in Frost White, Charcoal Black, Bronze Gold and Blossom Pink – a color to suit most anybody.  On a personal ‘note,’ I would ditch the Gold and add a dark blue or burgundy – what do you readers think?

Some of the Galaxy Note 4’s Main Features – Quad HD Super AMOLED display…just named today – “the Galaxy Note 4 is the Best performing Smartphone display that we have ever tested,” by DisplayMate Technologies.  This new QHD display will give you a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels…this compares to the Galaxy Note 3’s display of 1920 x 1080p and the Galaxy Note 2’s 1280 x 720p.

The Cameras on both sides of the Note 4 were upgraded.  The main camera went up to 16MP and added Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and on the front-facing camera (ffc) Samsung increased it to 3.7MP / F1.9 and made it wide-angled to allow you to bring in more area when Video Chatting or taking a Selfie.

The S-Pen is constantly being improved and the Galaxy Note 4’s is no exception.  Users wanted a more realistic writing ‘feel’ when using the S-Pen, so Samsung doubled its sensitivity from a 1024 pressure level to a whopping 2048.

They added a new feature called “Smart Selection,” that allows you to quickly trace a portion of your display to easily capture it to save and use later.  They also added “Snap Note,” which allows you to take a photo of say a complicated formula, use Tilt Correction, if necessary, Trace and Insert or Edit the picture, write on it, and then send it to a colleague.

The Note 4 also features Quick Charge that allows you to go from a zero to a 50-percent charge in only 30 minutes…down from 55 minutes in the Note 3.

Other features of the Galaxy Note 4 included one of two processors – either an 805 Quad-Core clocked at 2.7GHz or An Exynos Octa-Core clocked at 1.9GHz and 1.3GHz, with either model running the newest Android 4.4.4 KitKat operation system.  The Note 4 comes with 32GB of internal storage with a microSD Card slot for up to an additional 128GB of storage and comes with 3GB of RAM and a 3,220mAh battery.  Connectivity features include, LTE Cat.6, capable of 50/300 Mbps – Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac – and Bluetooth v4.1.  Also included on the Note 4 is a Fingerprint Scanner for security and a Heart Rate Monitor for the runners in the group.
