Samsung Galaxy S5 Active Might Launch In Europe Soon, Report Says

Samsung releases a lot of phones during the year, whether we’re talking low, mid or high-end devices. Last year we’ve see a rugged edition of Samsung’s Galaxy S4 device, this year is no exception. Samsung announced an “Active” version of their Galaxy S5 device back in May, the Galaxy S5 Active. The device was exclusive to US carriers for an unknown reason, though it seems that won’t be the case for long. SamMobile reports that the device will be coming to Europe shortly, at least according to their sources. The phone will allegedly be available in silver and green colors at launch and a suggested retail price is â‚¬629. SamMobile didn’t share an approximation when will the device launch though, except for “in the near future”. In any case, I believe it will find its way to European carriers until the end of this year, who knows, maybe they’re aiming for Christmas timeframe or something.

Galaxy S5 Active is featuring a 5.1-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) Super AMOLED display just like the original Galaxy S5 (most of the specs are the same as the matter a fact). The device comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage which is expandable via MicroSD card up to 128GB. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 801 quad-core chip clocked at 2.5GHz is under the hood powering this beast and alongside the processor you can find an Adreno 330 GPU taking care of graphics processing. 16-megapixel camera is located at the back of the device while there’s a 2-megapixel shooter up front. 2800mAh battery is included in the package and Android 4.4.2 KitKat comes out of the box with Samsung TouchWiz UI on top of it. The device comes with IP67 certification for dust and water resistance, though the original Galaxy S5 has the very same certification, so what’s the point? Well, this device is rugged, not as rugged as the Kyocera Brigadier or the CAT phones, but more rugged than the Galaxy S5. On top of it, it offers US Mil-STD 810G specification for protection against shock, humidity, and rain. Check out our review in order to find out more about the device. Does this phone interests you at all?
