While last week we were all laughing at Apple and their #Bendgate controversy, Samsung was selling their brand new flagship the Galaxy Note 4 in their home country of South Korea. And some 30,000 Koreans have a Galaxy Note 4 right now in hand. Which is where reports surfaced that the Galaxy Note 4 suffered from a gap between the screen and the bezel. It’s actually large enough to fit your business card into. We reported on this just yesterday, and today Samsung’s PR has issued a statement about this. “The reported issue does not impact the functionality or quality of the Galaxy Note 4. We assure our customers that all Galaxy Note 4 units meet our strict manufacturing and quality control standards.” So that doesn’t tell us a whole lot about the issue, but we’ll have to put our trust into those making the Galaxy Note 4 and those working in quality control are making great devices for us to buy in just a few weeks.
The Galaxy Note 4 is probably going to be one of the most popular Android devices of the year. Not that, that should be surprising as the Galaxy Note 3 was one of the most popular devices last year. So it’s important that Samsung gets this straightened out now, or else they’ll be headed down the same path as Apple is right now with their bending iPhones. Although it doesn’t help that people are now bending their phones on purpose to get on YouTube. The Galaxy Note 4 is going on sale here in the US in a few weeks – October 17th to be exact – and it’s available for pre-order right now. How many of you are going to wait a bit to pick up the Galaxy Note 4 until we know that the #GapGate issues are fixed? Let us know in the comments down below.
