When it comes to listening to music in the U.S., we have many choices in both hardware and software/apps. Perhaps no physical speaker system is as well-known as the Sonos branding – they have many sizes and shapes and you can count on two things…they are not cheap, but they work. They can fill up a room with sound and look great while they pump out the tunes. Sonos has developed an entire system, so you can buy one speaker for a room or set up a complete home speaker system and control all of them from your smartphone, tablet or PC.
Sonos is now taking music streaming to the next level with Deezer Elite that offers high definition audio streaming – and it is ONLY available on Sonos. Deezer Elite marks its debut in the U.S. with over 30 million songs in Deezer’s catalog, streamed in FLAC lossless and 16-bit, 44.1kHz, to allow you to hear every nuance of sounds from your favorite songs. This is streaming around 1411kbps as opposed to the 320kbps on Spotify, so you can imagine the higher quality sound…like going from a vinyl disk to a CD. You can create custom radio stations based on your favorite artists, stream one song throughout the entire house, individual songs in each room and so much more.
The Deezer Elite streaming only works with the Sonos music system. Deezer joins more than 50 music services already available on Sonos around the world. Sonos customers in the U.S. can begin with a beta try on September 15 – and they will give you a free 30-day trial. After that it will run you a special launch price of $14.99 a month and then shortly after that it will jump to its regular price of $19.99 a month or $120 for the entire year. The Deezer Elite service will eventually be available worldwide.
Some people will not be happy that this service is being offered only on Sonas and maybe their exclusivity will eventually end – but for now, if you want the best sounding streaming music, it seems like Deezer and Sonas will be the choice of audiophiles for now.
Please hit us up on our Google+ Page and let us know if you are a Sonos fan, what you think of their speakers/systems, and if the audiophile sound of Deezer Elite is of interest to you…as always, we would love to hear from you.
