After unveiling a slew of new products at IFA such as the Galaxy Note 4 and Note Edge, Samsung has more mobile handsets in the works. Following the release of the Galaxy Alpha, the Electronics Giant has 3 more devices they plan to release with similar designs and metal build as the Galaxy Alpha. As noted on Sammobile, the three devices have the model numbers SM-A300, SM-A500 and SM-A700. Appearing on the GFXBench database, are some specifications for what seems to be the lower model SM-A300.
Now according to the benchmark site, the Samsung SM-A300 has some lower end specs which automatically leads us to say that this is low end model. The handset comes with a 4.8 inch 960—540 display. Compared to other phones, the resolution is rather poor. The chip running the handset is a Qualcomm processor that clocks in at just 1.2GHz. From here on, the hardware for the device gets oven more poor. THe SM-A300 only has 1GB of RAM and for storage there is only 5GB. For most low-end phones you would normally see 8GB, but for this device we’re only seeing 5. Moving on over to the camera, the SM-A300 has a 7 megapixel rear facing camera and a 5 megapixel front facing camera. Apparently the front facing camera can take 1080p HD video recording. To end off the list of specification that were given in the benchmark listing, the SM-A300 will have a Qualcomm Adreno 306 GPU and of course will be running Android 4.4.4.
According to Sammobile, the three new devices that will be released by Samsung won’t see the light of day until the third quarter of 2014. Word on pricing hasn’t been released but we’ll let you know when the news is out. If you’re still questioning the specifications in the listing, keep in mind that they could change. It’s still really early to tell if half of what is listed is correct. For example, 5GB of internal storage doesn’t sound quite right, and the megapixels for the camera could probably get bumped up too.
