Description: GlideFire is an endless runner game for Android that works in arcade style combat into the mix. Set in the year 2221, when artificial intelligence have stopped responding to the Earth government, retired ace pilots are called in to clean up the mess, this elite group was dubbed the Arbiters and are the Earth Alliance’s best defense against the rogue ArmaDron Corporation that’s milatiarizing domestic sectors. As a game, GlideFire features quality 3D graphics, a good variety of different vehicles to pilot along with other upgrades you can apply to your vessel. More than just an endless runner game that will remind gamers of Wipeout, GlideFire is a good-looking 3D game that mobile gamers could really take to. So, let’s take a closer look then.
How it Works: To hit the road with GlideFire, you’ll first need to download the game from the Play Store. Once you have the game installed, you’re treated to a cool intro of sorts that helps set the scene.
You’re then given some tips on just how to play the game.
Right from the get-go, it’s clear to see that the graphics here are really quite good and that GlideFire has a high frame rate. While this tutorial did go on for a little longer than I’d have liked, it does adequately fill you in.
Once you’ve gone through the tutorial, you’ll be at the base menu, where you can change all sorts of things, like upgrade to a new glider, improve your current one and more.
For me, the selection of gliders on offer is easily one of the coolest things about GlideFire, and it shows the effort gone into the game as well. Things start off fairly slowly in GlidreFire, but as you build up pace, things start to get trickier and trickier. Unlike other endless runners, you have a shield so it’s not a one-hit-and-your-done sort of game either.
At the end of each level, you’re given a look at how you’ve done as well as some points to help you upgrade your weapons and gliders.
The more you play, the more insane action you’ll be able to enjoy, like this:
Opinion: I’ve always had a soft spot for endless runners, with Subway Surfers being one of my favorite games, however that’s pretty samey and there’s not much going on aside from the 2 or 3 different mechanics you need to master when playing it. With GlideFire featuring much better graphics than a lot of other games out there, there’s so much going on that it can be difficult to take it all in. Of course, GlideFire isn’t really an endless runner in the typical sense, there’s a storyline, a genuine progression from one thing to the next and of course there’s the great variety of different vehicles as well. It’s a great game if you’re looking for that sort of gameplay, but with a lot more substance. What GlideFire does, in my opinion, is blend a whole lot of different genres together to create one of the best endless runner-type of games I’ve played in a log time.

- Overall (4.5/5) – With a whole host of different game mechanics at work, GlideFire features fast-paced gameplay and good-looking 3D graphics, it’s a lot of fun and offers fans of endless runners a whole lot more meat to sink their teeth into.
