There are a couple of different game modes, but if this is your first time playing, then it’s well worth taking a look at the simple controls and just how to play the game.
As soon as you start playing, you’ll appreciate the simple controls and easy to use interface, and while things sure start off fairly simple…
You’ll soon end up with some more difficult levels, with those that ask you to mix colors together, which is one of my favorite mechanics from the game.
Some of the more difficult levels will introduce a timing concept to the overall gameplay, that will ask you to color certain circles in a specific order in order to complete the level.
Opinion: I really enjoy a good puzzle game that makes use of the touchscreen on Android, I dislike having to use a digital analog stick to move things around. Never mind that though, Watercolors is designed to be a nice and calm puzzle game that keeps you on your toes, but doesn’t ask too much of you. The blend of simple and easy controls with a colorful, serene interface works great here and I never had any issues with the game, and it managed to keep me more than entertained for quite a while. It’s a refreshing change from puzzle games that use the same old formula and definitely offers something fresh and different to puzzle fans new and old alike.

Conclusion: Watercolors is a game that anyone can pick up and play and instantly have fun with, it might be quite difficult in some of the later levels, but it starts off nicely and the challenge is certainly welcome. For a game that seems so simple, there’s a surprising amount of depth in Watercolors and it’s something a lot of people should take a look at if you’re in the mood for a new type of puzzle game that has its own ruleset, rather than borrowing from a tried-and-true one like those Tetris or Match-3 games out there.
